    Establishment of Asahi Mini Rope Co., Ltd. Start of sales of ultra-fine stainless steel ropes

    Asahi Mini Rope Sales Co., Ltd. changes name to Asahi Intecc Co., Ltd.

    Establishment of Asahi Intecc Thailand Co., Ltd. (now a wholly-owned overseas subsidiary) in Thailand as an overseas production base to enhance price competitiveness

    Opening of the Medical Development Headquarters to start R&D of medical devices

    Completion and start of operation of the Seto Medical Factory (company approved for the manufacture of medical devices) (Seto, Aichi Prefecture); Changed location of head office to same location due to business reasons

    Approved as a medical device manufacturer by the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare (now Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare) (current approval No.: 23BZ0510). Succeeded in Japan’s first commercialization of guiding catheters and PTCA guide wires for myocardial infarction treatment

    Jul

    Established Tohoku R&D Center as a central base for development of high-precision processing techniques such as casting and injection molding. ASAHI INTECC USA, INC., a consolidated subsidiary of Asahi Intecc, acquired shares of RetroVascular, Inc. owning plasma energy technology and made RetroVascular its subsidiary (sub-subsidiary of Asahi Intecc/ consolidated subsidiary). Acquired Ficas Co., Ltd. to make Ficas Co., Ltd wholly-owned subsidiary for the purpose of contributing society from the view point of welfare for the handicapped.
